This silver and enamel brooch was modeled in 1887 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. It features a crown with the letters "V" and "R" on either side, which stand for Victoria Regina (Queen Victoria). It also includes the dates "1837 and 1887" and symbols of the United Kingdom: the rose for England, the thistle for Scotland, and the shamrock for Ireland. 

The Golden Jubilee celebrated the 50th anniversary of Queen Victoria's accession to the throne on June 20, 1837.
